Job Description
• Responsible for implementing and managing Behavior-Based Safety programs, Regulatory training, environmental waste reduction and EHS Program Management to maintain and enhance Certification standards, as well as continuous improvement of key performance metrics through project management and initiatives.
• Facilitate Risk Assessment Process (Health & Safety Risks, Environmental Aspects and Impacts) in order to mitigate risks. Coordinate with team and functional management, including HR, to manage injured workers including return to work programs.
• Conduct or respond to health and safety assessments/analyses in plant to minimize health and safety risks
• Lead the implementation of the facilities wastewater quality strategy compliance tracking and review/approval of designs.
• Design and deliver EHS procedure and management system related training modules at five levels: New Hire Orientation, Annual Review, Specialty, Contractor, and Management
• Develop implementation strategies, implement, evaluate and/or certify effective implementation of programs and standards.
• Establish and maintain medical response program and emergency response organization and champion sustainability efforts within the facility.
• Coordinate and communicate findings of internal and external audits to management staff, and ensure items of non-conformance are addressed and corrected according to schedule
• Effectively translate safety and sustainability goals and objectives to all levels of the organization ensuring alignment on relevant performance data
• Routinely review safety and sustainability results with plant personnel to maximize facility performance.
• Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety and sustainability culture.
• Participate in industry organizations to stay current on technologies, process and regulations
• Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices in and outside the Company and embrace change introduced by others
• Design, implement and execute programs and processes to protect the safety and health of employees
• Ensure facility compliance with good environmental practices and with applicable regulations.
• Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with state and local regulatory agencies. Represent company on regulatory issues with impact outside local plant.
Job Requirement
• Knowledge
o Safety: Knowledge of technical practices and programs used in the reduction or elimination of workplace hazards. Includes knowledge of worker safety regulations as they relate to the manufacturing, distribution, and sales.
o Environmental Management System Design: Ability to design, develop and implement effective environmental management systems. This includes the ability to coach Associates how to effectively assess environmental management system designs and deployment.
o Environmental and Health & Safety Regulations: Knowledge of government environmental, health and safety regulations; how to access and evaluate resources as applicable to facilities within YHS Cambodia.
o Industrial Hygiene: Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
o Technical Communication to Non-Technical Audience: Ability to break down or modify complex technical information as needed to communicate it orally or in writing to non-technical staff (e.g., senior managers, customers or consumers). This includes the ability to use analogies/metaphors understood by the target audience to reinforce points. It also includes the ability to accurately read the audience’s level of understanding and adjust the message/presentation to deliver it at the appropriate level.
o Requirements: Necessary Technical:
o 5-7 years’ Experience of heading safety at a manufacturing operations of 100 or more people.
o Degree in Environmental engineering or management or EHS programs is desirable.
o Knowledge of technical practices and programs used in identification and elimination of workplace hazards
o Knowledge of worker safety regulations as they relate to manufacturing.
o Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
o Ability to interact with government officials; Seek required safety and environment related certifications
o Capability to Train and educate people on occupational health and Safety requirements at plant.
o Ability to bring in a culture of safety to all in the operations
o Trained on handling emergency response
