Job Description
• Manage a QS team consisting of QS Engineers team to work effectively
• Responsible for the cost of any building project - from initial estimates, right through to the acquisition of materials and closing of project
• Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling and reporting
• Prepare tender and contract documents, contracts, costing, bills of quantities and other details regarding quantities of required materials
• Excellent understanding of documentation quality, be part of document control
• Detailed knowledge of building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters
• Undertake cost analysis and planning for new construction, repair and maintenance project work
• Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports
• Perform risk, value management and cost control
• Provide analysis on contractual claims, value completed work and arrange payments
• Seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality
• Contract Negotiation and Contract Management
• Analyze completed work and arranging payment to contractors
• Conduct regular site visits, assessments and projections for future work
• Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
• Provide advice and forecasts about costs and procurement strategy
• Negotiation and team work skills, ability to motivate and lead those on site
• Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned by Head of Technical Design Office and also assigned by superior.
Job Requirement
• Bachelor | Master degree in Structural/Civil engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years work experience in quantity surveying field
• Good command of Khmer and English, both spoken and written (must be able to write reports)
• Computer fluency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, AutoCAD
• Good inter-personal skills, must be able to communicate well with staff
• Excellent communicator with impressive numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role
• Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment
• Strong team player, working effectively with all staff members at all levels
• Global mindset, pro-active, analytical, problem-solving, paired with a very clear hands-on mentality
